A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the result. Ocean County Residents Directory does not keep its own copy of those search entries. If you contact us, we receive the information included in your message and use it to respond.
Information Collected by Routine Operation
Hosting services may create ordinary server logs, such as an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. We use aggregate information to maintain the service and understand which Ocean County research pages are used. Cookies or comparable tools may support basic analytics and, where relevant, advertising measurement.
How Information Is Used
Information is used to operate the reference, resolve technical issues, measure traffic, and improve its pages. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Sites and Search Providers
Links lead to county and state portals, libraries, archives, and third-party search services. The privacy terms of those providers control information submitted on their platforms. That includes sponsored result providers, which operate separately from this reference.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting and support providers process relevant server logs for the service. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatically collected information described above. Information is disclosed when a valid legal process requires disclosure, and otherwise only as needed to operate the service.
Security and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here. Because there are no user accounts, the service does not hold an account password or user profile for a visitor.
Visitors Under 18
This reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. If you believe a minor sent information to us, contact us so it can be removed.
Your Information Requests
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask about personal information a website holds. Because this service keeps very little, a request generally involves the contact mailbox and applicable logs. Use the Contact page to make a request. Government records held by New Jersey, Ocean County, or municipal custodians are outside our control, and correction or removal requests for those records belong with the relevant custodian.
